He was predeceased by: his grandfather Thomas Calvarese. He is survived by: his parents, Daniel Swistak and Melissa Swistak (Calvarese); his brother Thomas Swistak; and his grandmother Marianne Calvarese. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ben's name can be made to the Cleveland Fire Department, 31 West St., Cleveland, NY 13042.
