He was predeceased by: his son Chester Floyd Merrifield; and his brother Walter Merrifield. He is survived by: his wife Florence Merrifield (Orsted); his daughter Sharon Johnson; his granddaughter Rachel Hoffman (Kyle); his great grandchild Charlotte Hoffman; and his sisters, Mary Jane Rothstein and Carol Ann Giordano. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
