He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Nefsey and Nellie Bush Mauzy Nefsey; his wife Johann Merchant Mauzy; his granddaughter Taylor Yacavone; and his stepgranddaughter Carrie.
He is survived by: his children, Sherry Byron of Cincinnatus, Lauri Mauzy of Cortland, Russell Mauzy (Debra) of Brooksville, FL, Scott Mauzy (Kathy) of McGraw and Steven Mauzy of Cincinnatus; his grandchildren, Josh Byron (Nicole), Shelly Mauzy, Mathew Yacavone (Haley), Meghan Mauzy, Savannah Mauzy, Eli Mauzy, Ethan Mauzy, Lukas Mauzy and Remington Mauzy; his great grandchildren, Jace, Colton, James, Liliana, Everlyn, Raelyn, Ivy and Charlie; his stepgrandchildren, Tracie, Randy and Lindsay; and his sister Jean Wood of Cincinnatus. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Sharp Funeral Home (5736 Telephone Rd, Cincinnatus, NY 13040). A memorial service was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
