He was predeceased by: his parents, William Schweinsburg and Evelyn Schweinsburg (Robinson); and his brother Richard Schweinsburg. He is survived by: his wife Dona K. Thorpe; his sons, John Schweinsburg Jr. (Sue) of Central Square, NY and William Schweinsburg (Lisa) of North Syracuse, NY; his brothers, Raymond Schweinsburg (Margaret) of Polson, Fred Schweinsburg (Nancy) of Lake Ariel and David Schweinsburg (Susan) of Lake Ariel; and his sister-in-law Elaine Schweinsburg. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
