The passing of Ellen A. (Hibbard) McGowan (Chittenango, New York), born in Saranac Lake, New York leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on November 21, 2024 at the age of 87. She was predeceased by: her husband Norman McGowan; and her grandson Brett McGowan. She is survived by: her stepson-in-law Jim; her brother David Hibbard; her daughters, Candace Cain and Theresa Cain (William Smith); her stepchildren, Debra Newton (Jim), John McGowan (Joann), Kenneth McGowan (Charlotte) and Matthew McGowan (Maureen); her grandchildren, Corie Locke (Tommie), Jaime Wittrock (Jerod), Ashley Northcutt, Benjamin (Jenna), Devin, Shane and David McGowan (Sarah); her great grandchildren, Johnathan, Julianna Locke, Addison Swallows, Rylee, Brantley, Charleigh Wittrock, Aiden McGowan, Luke, Jacob, Eli McGowan, Virginia and Joslyn McGowan; her nephews, Joe Hibbard and John Cain; and her niece Erin Carter.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the G. F. Zimmer Funeral Home (702 Legion Dr, Chittenango, NY 13037). A Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Patrick's Church (1341 Murray Dr, Chittenango, NY 13037).
In lieu of flowers contributions in Ellen's memory may be made to the Abraham House Rome or the Sullivan Free Library in Chittenango .
