He was predeceased by: his parent Thomas Canavan; and his stepson Steven Flaum. He is survived by: his mother Nancy Burkhardt Canavan of Manlius; his wife Sherri of Chittenango; his son Brian; his stepdaughter Emily Flaum; and his brothers, Jeffrey and Patrick. He is also survived by several cousins, nephews, nieces.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the G. F. Zimmer Funeral Home (702 Legion Dr, Chittenango, NY 13037). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the St. Patrick's Church (1341 Murray Dr, Chittenango, NY 13037).
