He was predeceased by: his parents, Steve Ryder and Ethel Slater Ryder; and his siblings, Ethel, Becky, Frances, Doris and Michael.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Lewis Ryder; his children, Mychael Ryder (Scott), Edward Ryder (Gillian), Chris Rivera (Jeanine) and Victoria Hall (Ray); his siblings, Steven, Robert, Diane, Donna and Charlotte; and his sister-in-law Alice Lewis Ramos. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
