She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph A. Janus. She is survived by: her children, Sophie Pyzikiewicz (Richard), Patricia Henderson, Joseph V. Janus (Margaret) and Christine Martin (David); her grandchildren, Nicholas, Laura, Adam, Katie, Kyle, Jeffrey, Jon, Kellie, Emily and Maxwell; and her great grandchildren, Poppy, Natalie, Piper, Quinn, Elsie, Eli, Joshua and Knox. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Donations may be made in Rita's name to Hospice Buffalo.
