He was predeceased by: his wife Stefania; and his children, Sonja Atzrott and Jozef Laba. He is survived by: his daughters, Anna Supernault (Bruce) and Suzanne Laba; and his grandchildren, Hope (Christopher), Alicia (Suman), Michael, Elizabeth and Lisa. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mieczyslaw's name to Hospice Buffalo.
