He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth Steinhilber; his son Robert Steinhilber; his parents, Charles Steinhilber and Edna Steinhilber; and his stepmother Mae Steinhilber.

He is survived by: his children, David Steinhilber (Deborah), Kathy Szymanski and Jeanne Bryk (James); his grandchildren, Heather Madigan (John), Andrew Steinhilber (Tomomi), Kim Dei Dolori (Brian), Peter Bryk and Timothy Bryk; his great grandchildren, Conor, Lily, Ryan and Willy; and his sister Barbara Tiffany (Robert). He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
