He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Gaston and Nettie Geer; and his sisters, Penny LaFountain and Barbara Grippe. He is survived by: his wife Gail Gaston; his children, Kristen DeVaney of Geneva, NY, Kimberly Voutsinas (Michael) of Arlington, TN and Richard Gaston of Syracuse, NY; his grandchildren, Ryan, Connor DeVaney, Leah and Anthony Voutsinas; and his siblings, Bruce Gaston (Gloria) of Quincey, FL, Howard Jr. Gaston (Winnie) of Marienville, PA, Sara Mae Yount of Kittanning, PA, Maxine Cochran of Oveida, FL and Peggy Lariviere (James) of Marienville, PA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family.
