She was predeceased by: her parents, Nettie Gates (Guile) and George W. Gates; and her pet Sarge. She is survived by: her son George H. Gates (Sheena); her stepgrandsons, Geoffrey Loughrey (Casey) and Justin Loughrey (McKayla); and her sister-in-law Shirley Gates (Hughes). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her name.
