He was predeceased by: his wife June; his parents, Herbert Cowles and Gertrude Cowles; and his brothers, Allen and Clifford Cowles.
He is survived by: his children, Dennis Cowles (Patti) of Syracuse and Diane Engdahl (Barry) of Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania.; and his granddaughters, Kimberly Fougnier, Kristin Sweeney, Kendall Cowles, Mallory Brezina and Melissa Gundacker. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
