It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Karen Mahnke of Cayuta, New York, who passed away on January 13, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
As Karen departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Karen may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Karen leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James O'Connell and Edna O'Connell (Cook). She is survived by: her son Adam; her daughter-in-law Charlene; her grandchildren, Henna DeVita (Luke), Dasia Herrmann and Gunner Herrmann; and her brothers, Richard O'Connell (Wendy) of Horseheads, NY and Kevin O'Connell (Tracey) of York, PA. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 300 Main St, Odessa, NY 14869.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Odessa Fire Department or a local Scouting Unit in the Winding Rivers District of the Great Falls Council.
