He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Charles John and Concetta DiDio Fasso; his children, Christina M. Murell (Harold Stevenson) of Catskill, Carol Greene and Stephanie M. Fasso (Dominick Utano) of Catskill; his siblings, Mary Tardugno of Lindenhurst, Connie Savage of Staten Island and Sally Lustig of Long Island; his grandchildren, Joseph J. Murell, Jr., Elena R. Greene, Hailey M. Utano, Gianna N. Race, Sofia M. Greene and Emilia G. Utano; and also Carol A. Fasso of Catskill. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
