He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Schaefer and Dorothea Hauver Schaefer; and his brother George Donald Schaefer. He is survived by: his wife Veronica Schaefer; his children, Sandra Abel of Catskill, Matthew Schaefer (Karen) of Catskill and Christopher Schaefer (Cassandra) of Catskill; his siblings, Lloyd Schaefer of Florida and Alice Wade; and his grandchildren, Dylan, Cassandra, Kailey Abel, Chase and Caden Schaefer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
