He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson T. Ernst and Bertha Kotary Ernst; and his brother Larry Ernst. He is survived by: his former wife Karen Kirk; his daughter Tina Ernst (Glenfield); and his grandchildren, Shawnee Hill (Glenfield) and Keith Maher (Boonville).
