He was predeceased by: his parents, John Burns and Eva Burns (Manor); and his brother Kevin Burns. He is survived by: his wife Sheila M. Burns of Carthage; his pet Charlie; and his brother Daniel (Winifred Burns) of Carthage. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Augustinian Academy, 317 West St., Carthage, NY 13619.
