He was predeceased by: his wife Bonnie L. Raymond; his parents, Emiliano and Rosario; and his siblings, Iris and Wilfredo.
He is survived by: his children, Hector Luis Vargas Jr. (Chad LaPlante) of Rome and Amy Jo Reitz (Dustin) of Theresa; his grandsons, Eric Keith Reitz and Dustin Henry Reitz; and his siblings, Monsie, Isabel, Antonia, Jaime, Antonio and Gilberto.
