He was predeceased by: his parents, William Harper and Violet Harper (Shawcross); his stepfather Adelbert Dionne; and his brothers, Howard Harper, Robert "Bobby" Harper and Ernest Harper.
He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Fleming Harper of Copenhagen, N. Y.; his children, Randall Harper (Janine Haver) of West Carthage, NY., Holly McElhearn (Gary) of Bluefield, VA. and Melissa Harper (Christopher Strickland) of Bluefield, VA.; his grandchildren, Brian McElhearn, Emily Crane, Robert Harper, Heidi Garrett and Heather Weller; and his sisters, Ruth Watkins (Henry) and Violet Crane.
