He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles J. O'Shaughnessy and Marjorie M. O'Shaughnessy (Rushlow); his grandson Michael Pierce; and his siblings, Terry, Patrick, William O'Shaughnessy and Kathy O'Shaughnessy.

He is survived by: his former wife Cheryl A. Goodman; his children, Carrie Pierce (Jason) of Carthage and Justin O'Shaughnessy (Beth) of Port Byron; and his siblings-in-law, Jeffery Goodman (Candy), Cathy Goynes, Carolina, Charlene Symonds of Virginia and Cindy Hickman of Carthage. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
