He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Wilmont and Mary Etta Griggs Sr. (Tyner); and his sisters, Vicky Griggs and Ann Griggs. He is survived by: his wife Patricia J. Griggs of West Carthage; his daughters, Laura Soboleski (Stanley) of Watertown and Lisa Griggs of Ogdensburg; his brother Joseph Griggs of Hartsville, SC; his half-sister Dorothy Linton of Hartsville, SC; and his aunt Shirley Beasley of Hartsville, SC..
