She was predeceased by: her parents, Milton Cowles and Mary Jane Cowles (Weekes); her husband Terry Matice; her close friend Joseph Vaccaro; and her sister Nancy Clyde (Wesley).
She is survived by: her daughters, Terrie Wood (Kevin) and Tina Woodfolk (Mark); her grandchildren, Kevin Wood (Melissa), Thomas Wood (Brittany) and Lauren Woodfolk; her great grandchildren, Adrienne, Adalynn, Aryn, Aubryana, Kohen and Harper Jones; and her siblings, Milton "Pete" (Dianne Cowles, Jr.), Linda Lee, Mary Louise (Roy "Butch" Beirman), Donna (Joe McMahon), Joseph (Lori Cowles), Valerie Windover (Allen), Virginia and Lisa Wensel (Skip). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Lundy Funeral Home (500 State St, Carthage, NY 13619). A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Lundy Funeral Home Chapel (500 State St, Carthage, NY 13619).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Betty's memory be made to the Carthage Area Hospital Foundation.
