We are sad to announce that on January 25, 2025, at the age of 89, Jose F. Somarriba of Carmel, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Jose departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Jose. Though Jose may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Melissa Ann Somarriba, Nicole Alexandra Shuluk, Rebecca Ellen Irizarry and Alexsa Grace Doolittle; and his siblings, Sonia Somarriba, Julio Dennis Somarriba and Rev. Somarriba.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the James Romanelli-Stephen Funeral Home (89-01 Rockaway Blvd, Jamaica, NY 11416). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A procession will be held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM. A burial will be held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Pinelawn Memorial Park. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 11:45 AM at the James Romanelli-Stephen Funeral Home (89-01 Rockaway Blvd, Jamaica, NY 11416).
