He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Hengel and Mary Hengel (Fox) of New Rochelle, NY.; his wife Mae Christensen; his children, Douglas Hengel (Rita), Kevin Hengel, Michael Hengel (Sue), Cathy Disanto (Benny) and Karen Hengel; his brother John Hengel Jr.; his son Thomas Hengel; and his sister Marion. He was also cherished by his eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
