He is survived by: his wife Ellen (Abbatecola); his children, Gina Kappes (John) and Donald Vecchiarello, Jr. (Shannon); his grandchildren, Katerina, Christian, Lily Kappes, Nicolas and Julia Vecchiarello; and his brother Richard. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
