He was predeceased by: his parents, Eldon Howard and Florence Howard (Pearl); his wife Maureen Smith; and his sister Pauline Howard. He is survived by: his children, Paul E. II Howard (Phyllis), Kelly M. Merrill (Bryan) and Erin M. Backus (Russ); his grandchildren, Erik, Megan Howard, Bryan II, Sean Merrill and Rory Backus; and his siblings, Arloeen Potocnak, Harold Howard, Catherine Howard, Mary Howard, Virginia Dewan and Anne Foley. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
