He was predeceased by: his father Henry Bassett; his daughter Becky Watts; and his siblings, John Bassett and Lois Keller. He is survived by: his wife Lillian Bassett; his children, Deborah Keiffer (William), Roger Alexander (Donna), Frank Bassett (Mary) and Thomas Bassett (Lisa); and his sisters, Alta Day and Betty Calhoun. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
