It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Gielen (Canisteo, New York), born in Hornell, New York, who passed away on October 13, 2019, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry "Hank" and Lelah Karns Gielen; and his daughter Cheryl Palumbo. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Bancroft Gielen of Canisteo; his children, Michele Wimpelberg of Canisteo, Lisa Kay Beasley of North Carolina and William H. Gielen of North Carolina; his stepchildren, William Roche (Renee) of Hornell and Jacquelyn Updyke of Canisteo; and his sister Phyllis Bergquist of Wisconsin. He is also survived by 10 Grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
