It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shawn E. Houghtaling of Canisteo, New York, born in Hornell, New York, who passed away on January 8, 2024, at the age of 40, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his parents, Ronald Houghtaling and Marie Houghtaling (Dunham) of Canisteo; his sisters, Shelly Barbal of Ossining, NY, Jennifer Lazar (Adam) of Philadelphia and Rachael Melnyk (Jeff) of Canisteo; and his grandmother Wilma Dunham of Arkport. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions in Shawn's name may be made to the Hornell Area Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Rd. Hornell, NY 14843.
