She was predeceased by: her parents, Welford Dickerson and Hazel Rowey Dickerson; her husband Elwin Leo McMindes; and her children, Veronica McMindes and Alan McMindes.

She is survived by: her son Lee McMindes (Dorothea) of North Carolina; and her brother LaVerne Dickerson of Addison. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
