She was predeceased by: her parents, Adlore LaPlante and Florence LaPlante (Dunn); her daughters, Sally Babcock and Marie Backus; her granddaughter Christy Letherland; and her siblings, Ernest LaPlante, Norman "Wilford" LaPlante, Earl LaPlante, Beatrice McDonald, Gertrude Lavarnway and Marion Loffler.
She is survived by: her husband James A. Barton, Sr.; her children, James A. Barton, Jr. of Canastota, Gloria (Ronald Curtis, Sr.), Patricia Campbell of East Syracuse, Lynda (Alex Henry), Ruth G. (Jeff Doty), Constance "Connie" (Scott Merritt), Jan Frink and Tammy (Bryan Bayne); her sisters, Joyce (Robert Robinson) and Janet Reyome of Queensbury; and her grandchildren, Cheryl Pilcher, Ronald Curtis, Jr., Tracey Houseman, Richard Curtis, Kimberlee Everett, Donna Campbell-Rifici, Archie Linnaberry, Bobbette Linnaberry, Wanda Morgan, Ricky Houle, John Henry II, Ronald Belcher, Jennifer Herman, Carolyn Letherland-Ruca, Robert Barton, Jessica Barton, Steven Merritt, Shannon Merritt, Nora Mather, Bradley Frink, Scott Bayne and Heather Bayne. She is also survived by twenty-nine great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
