It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James E. Caldwell of Canastota, New York, who passed away on January 25, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James E. Caldwell to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James S. Caldwell and Edith Relyea Caldwell; his daughter Nina; and his sisters, Mary Moyer, Nancy Fratini and Marietta Kelly.

He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Taylor; his daughter Faith Niles (Greg) of Dunedin, Florida; his grandchildren, Kristen (Jeremy) and Justin; his great grandchildren, Magdeline, Myah, Marie, Jeremy and Jackson; and his siblings, Teddy Mayer (Bob) of Mechanicsville, William Caldwell of Indiantown and Raymond Caldwell (Sandy) of Pulaski.

“Bob and I along with our grandchildren Myah, Magdeline, Marie, Jeremy and Jackson are just heartbroken. Jim was a great guy and will be missed by all. Condolences to Geraldine and Faith, Greg, Justin, Kirstin and Jeremy and all families and friends of Jim. RIP Jim and just know everyone loves you and will watch over Gerry! “Just before closing time I had stopped in at Flo's for a cup of coffee Friday night. Sitting at the counter and Butch Kline came in..... said that he had just heard that Jim had passed that afternoon..... The place got really quiet..... Butch wouldn't make that kind of a joke , but it was easier for me to believe that he had rather than to accept that Jim, ( "Jumpy Jack" as I remember his Dad calling him ) , was actually gone. Will be missed by so many , for so many different reasons. .....”
