Alonzo Lewis Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 24, 2021, at the age of 78, Alonzo Lewis of Canastota, New York, born in Newark, New Jersey passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lewis and Leona Lewis (Riley); and his siblings, Charles, James, Maurice, Eugene Lewis and Haseezah Yasim.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Coleman (Carswell); his former wife Grace Smith; his daughters, Renee (Lorenzo Johnson), Annette Slaughter (Darren Scott), Direne Askew of Rome, Shawn Coleman (Michael Knight) and Valerie (Joseph Whitehead); and his sisters, Direne (Calvin Hickman) and Marilyn Greene of Willinsboro, NJ. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren.
