He was predeceased by: his parent Albert Smith; his granddaughter Dona Green; his siblings, Lowell Smith, Eugen Smith, Mildred Sendun, Marilyn Strange and Imogene Timothy; and his son-in-law Dennison "Denny" Coates.

He is survived by: his parent Zella Smith (Now); his daughters, Barbara Green of Bath and Brenda Coates of Canaseraga; his grandchildren, Rob Green of Canandaigua, David Green of Salamanca, Mary Wolf (Joe) of Arkport, Vicky Lambert of Victor and Amy Weber of Dallas; his great grandchildren, Eric, Shawn, Brian, Emily, Carrington, Kyla, Hanna, LeeAnn and Trinitee; his siblings-in-law, Faye Smith of Circleville, Joyce DeBellis of Rochester and William McConnell (Maria) of San Diego; his nieces and nephews, Jim McConnell, Kevin McConnell, Brian McConnell, Matthew McConnell, Chris McConnell and Doris DeBellis Williams; and his significant other Harry Weaver.
