He was predeceased by: his parents, Kendall Whalen and Marjorie Kay Whalen; his parents-in-law, Marguerite and Gordon Cole; his stepmother Alfrieda Whalen; his brother Charles Whalen; and his siblings-in-law, David Stamps, Robert DeWick, Daniel Cole, Dennis Cole, Richard Gurnell and Marlou DeWick.
He is survived by: his significant other Nancy Mae Cole of Patrick's Church; his close friends, Tony and Jim; his sons, Shawn Patrick Whalen (Veronica "Ronni" Contreras) of Farmington and Ryan Thomas Whalen of Phelps; his grandchildren, Derek Ryan of Farmington, Rylind Valerie of Farmington and Nina June Whalen of Farmington; his siblings, Edward Whalen of Sackets Harbor, Kendall Whalen (Anne) of Farmington, Loretta Stamps of Adams and Mary Leta Corboy (Daniel) of Sackets Harbor; and his in-laws, Mary Jane Whalen of Chittenango, Evelyn Freeland (William) of Canandaigua, James DeWick of Florida, Donna Gurnell of Lima, Beverly French (Douglas) of Victor, Carol Stanley of Canandaigua and Brenda Gonzalez of Canandaigua. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Fuller Funeral Home Inc. (190 Buffalo St, Canandaigua, NY 14424). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
