He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia; his siblings, Allie, Leon, David Boyd and Clara Whitehead; and his parents, Leo Boyd and Annie Boyd (Peters).

He is survived by: his daughters, Kathleen Valvano (Richard), Karen Wood (David), Kim Gysel (Carl) and Kelly Gelinas (Gregg); his grandchildren, Kaitlin Ingerick (Ryan), John Casey Wood, Molly Sigel (Allen Faherty), Matthew Valvano (Amber), Sarah Carlson (Nick), William Sigel, Benjamin Sigel (Holly Greco), Alexandra Gelinas (Max Ross) and Samantha Gelinas; his great grandchildren, Isabelle, Jack, Grady, Greyson, Addie and Eliza; his siblings, Daniel Boyd (Catherine), Beverly Montgomery (Chester) and Audrey Mustaki; and his sister-in-law Diane Buron.
