She was predeceased by: her parents, Makbule Akar and Sevket Akar. She is survived by: her husband William Buckmann; her sister Ege Okudurlar; her nephew Gokhan Okudurlar (Aylin); her niece Goknur Okudurlar; her cousin Yildirim Yakar; and her sisters-in-law, Rosemary Backus (Denny) and Sandy.
