It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vera Settle Phillips Croote of Canajoharie, New York, born in Lawyersville, New York, who passed away on August 16, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Jay Settle and Crystal Eleanor Saltsman Settle; her former husband DeForest V. Phillips; and her siblings, Laura, Harold Settle, Jane Jones and Eleanor Chapman.

She is survived by: her husband Robert Croote; her children, Victor D. Phillips (Linda), Robert J. Phillips (Lorraine) and Linda E. Phillips; her sister Janet Shuster; her grandchildren, Heather, Richie Phillips, Jamie Pierce, Jessie Conden, Heidi Meka (Drew), Chancey Phillips (Ann Falsarella) and Holly Falsarella (Joe); and her great grandchildren, Nolan, Maya Falsarella, Andrew and Olivia Meka. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
