Lape of Canajoharie, New York, born in Amsterdam, New York, who passed away on September 7, 2022, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carmita Lape (Donlon) and Warren Lape; and his sister Mary Jane Trout. He is survived by: his wife Jackie; his daughters, Jessica Schwab (Peter) and Stephanie Crowe (Ian); his grandchildren, Nigel Skottke (Brianne), Cameron Skottke and Kaetlyn Crowe; and his great grandchildren, Kaylee Skottke and Jaymes Skottke.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Fonda Speedway Museum Memorial Fund in memory of David Lape. Donations can be sent to 622 Blaine Road, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
