In loving memory of Robert P. Steves of Camillus, New York, who departed this world on September 2, 2024 at the age of 85. Robert leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret; his daughter Maura Kelly Steves-McLaughlin; his parents, W. Reginald and Rose; his brothers, Thomas and Michael; and his brother-in-law Mitchell Edwards.

He is survived by: his son Ian (Amy) of Decatur, GA; his son-in-law Erin McLaughlin (Traci) of Syracuse; his siblings, William (Carol) of Syracuse, Mary Edwards of Syracuse and Virginia Chalanick (Donald) of Auburn; and his sister-in-law Theresa Steves of Syracuse. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 13th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Buranich Funeral Home (5431 W Genesee St, Camillus, NY 13031). A Mass was held on Saturday, September 14th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Holy Family Church (127 Chapel Dr, Syracuse, NY 13219). A burial was held on Saturday, September 14th 2024 at the Greenlawn Cemetery (2932 Warners Rd, Warners, NY 13164).

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse, NY 13219.

“In loving memory of Robert P. Steves, Bob was my next door neighbor, for two years at Camillus Pointe. Bob was the nicest guy, he made every effort to keep smiling, be as polite and kind as anyone ever could. I really enjoyed his humor and wisdom. He walked the walk, his faith was very evident. Bob, I miss our inside jokes. My son respected him, his past profession as a social worker, was highly needed in my son’s profession, they had good talks. Life here isn’t the same without Bob.”
