Rita A. (Donardo) Bova Obituary
Rita A. (Donardo) Bova, 88, of Camillus, passed away February 24, 2023 at Francis House surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late James and Mary Donardo. Rita graduated from North High School and worked as an executive secretary at GE for many years. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, and watching her children and grandchildren play sports. Rita loved cooking, and her breakfast on weekends was open to all. Her biggest joy was being a homemaker and taking care of her family; everyone looked forward to her delicious sauce.
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, Anthony (Barbara) Donardo.
Rita is survived by her husband of 63 years, Daniel Bova; five sons, James (Mary Beth) Bova, Paul (Maureen) Bova, Daniel Bova, John Bova, and Anthony (Monica) Bova; eight grandchildren, Stephanie (Egemen) Alici, Jimmy Bova, Victoria Alivero, Captain Elizabeth Bova, USMC, Jack, Daniel, Michael and Sophia Bova; three great grandchildren, Paige and Carter Alici, and Bryson Estrada, along with many nieces and nephews that she loved.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Rita's life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at St. Patrick's & St. Brigid's Church, 216 N. Lowell Ave., Syracuse, NY, with burial to follow at Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
