He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Van Marter and Frederick J. Hatem Sr.; his aunt Esther; his sister-in-law Margaret Anne Hughes (Thomas); and his half-brother Joe Tarbe.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hatem; his children, Kevin Hatem (Stephanie), Brian Hatem and Katie DeLeon (PJ); his cousin Lea; his grandchildren, Samuel, Joseph, Jacob, Ethan and Jaleigha; his sister-in-law Mary Ellen Groth (Mike); and his niece Megan.
