He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Gardner and Bernice Tubbs; and his adoptive parents, Thomas Benjamin Tillinghast, Jr., Edna Ann Tillinghast and Kathleen Grace Tillinghast.
He is survived by: his wife Connie Hanes-Tillinghast; his siblings, Sam Tillinghast (Irvan) and Sue Webster; his children, Lisa Stiles, Roger L. Tillinghast, Jr. and John Wayne Beuly-Deumer; and his stepchildren, Greg Morgan, James Fema, Kevin Stuart, Jr. and Margaret Stuart. He is also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
