She was predeceased by: her siblings, Catherine Gorman, Pauline Waterman, Anne Hohnson, Margaret Varnas, Alice Gorman, Joseph Cummings, Charles Zalvis and John Zalvis.
She is survived by: her former husband George Nelson Grinnell; her children, Charles Grinnell and Joanne Grinnell Larson of Verona Beach; her husband Woodrow "Bus" Durfee; her granddaughter Amanda Larson (Jim O'Mahony) of Oneida; her great grandchildren, Bianka Gebhardt, Whitney O'Mahony and Phoebe O'Mahony; and her grandson Aric Larson of Sauquoit. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In 2010, the Mary Rose Clinic, a free clinic for the uninsured and underinsured, was established in her honor by her grand-daughter, Amanda Larson, president of the Gorman Foundation, and Dr. Rathika Martyn, her long-time physician.
