She was predeceased by: her parents, Jay P. Newhard and Martha Gertrude Hart; her brother John Newhard; her former husband Philip L. Nichols; her husband John W. Bates; and her grandson Jayme Bates.
She is survived by: her son Joel L. Nichols; her stepchildren, John Bates, Jr., Jolene Bates, Jhvonne Higgins and Justyn Bates; her grandchildren, Lillian, Philip and Julia Nichols; and her stepgrandchildren, John, Juandrea, Jeffrey, Joshua, Jacob, Isaiah and Emily Bates.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Coila Church (93 NY-372, Cambridge, NY 12816). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A reception will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
