He was predeceased by: his parent Shirley Griffith Brenenstuhl; and his stepfather Willis Brenenstuhl. He is survived by: his wife Diane Carmody Griffith; his children, Jessica Lynne Benware (Timothy) of Fort Edward, James Scott Griffith (Chalen) of Cambridge and Jon Thomas Griffith (Sara) of Waxsaw, NC; his brother Stephen Griffith (Libby) of Idaho; and his grandchildren, Jordyn, Jacob, Paxton, Kevin and Ronan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as cousins.
