He was predeceased by: his father Peter Paul; his wife Sharron Woodcock Messina; his sons, Todd Alan Messina and Nicholas Messina; his grandson Albert D. Messina; and his brother Peter P. Messina, Jr. (Albert).
He is survived by: his mother Rachel Messina (Plante); his children, Chad Albert Messina (Joan) of Peyton, CO, Anthony Wayne Messina of Cambridge and Rachel L. Messina (Jason) of Creedmoor, NC; and his grandchildren, Jacob Messina (Brianne), Jessica Messina, Jennifer Wilson (Clint), Corin Anthony (Kristine), Vincent Messina (Meaghan), Maria Niles (Mason), Jeremy Messina (Joanna), Bailey Saunders, Alix Messina (C. C.) and Necola Messina (Sam). He is also survived by many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
