He was predeceased by: his parents, James F. Race and Veva M. Race Gallagher; and his siblings, Phyllis, Sue, Bill, Tom, Mike and Jack.
He is survived by: his siblings, Patricia DeVelder, Cheryl Steier (Jim) of LeRoy, Linda Gorton of Herkimer, Lillian Breemes of North Carolina, David Race of Corning and Dan Race (Pearl) of Henderson; his sister-in-law Barbara Gorton of Mississippi; and his close friend Sharon Brandt of LeRoy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
