With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Vern Hellijas of Burnt Hills, New York, born in Warnerville, New York, who passed away on March 30, 2023 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, LaVern Hellijas and Marietta Hellijas; his siblings, Dr. Carl Hellijas, Eunice Tingue and Virginia Brown; his former wives, Edna Wood Hellijas and Fay Hellijas; and his stepson Alan Wood.

He is survived by: his wife Claudette Hellijas of Burnt Hills; his children, Kurt Hellijas (JoAnne), Chris Hellijas and Carolyn Hellijas; and his stepchildren, Cindy Moczydlowsky (Paul), Debbie Ross, Marc Contard (Lisa), Chantal Couture and Michele Zebrowski (Kevin). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Grace Church, 73 Midline Rd, Ballston Lake, NY 12019, or to the American Cancer Society, 33 Elk St Suite 201, Albany, NY 12207.
